In Canada, Mazda’s SKYACTIV Technology proves popular again for the Japanese automaker in July. Mazda Canada announced sales for July 2013 today totaling 6,939, which represents an increase of 4 percent compared to July 2012.
Total year-to-date sales of 42,880 are down by 3% versus 2012.
Sales in July were led by the compact Mazda3, with 3,630 sold. Mazda Canada said over 60 percent of all Mazda3s sold in July were equipped with the fuel-efficient SKYACTIV Technology, which also accounted for 64 percent of total vehicles sold in July.
The 2014 CX-5 once again broke its previous best monthly sales record in July, increasing the year-over-year sales by 102 percent and up year-to-date 52 percent compared to 2012.
“Now in its second year and with a new 2.5L engine option, the CX-5 continues to gain momentum with consumers in the showroom and shows no signs of slowing down,” said David Klan, Senior Director, Sales, Marketing and Regional Operations, Mazda Canada Inc. “SKYACTIV Technology in the CX-5 offers a no-compromise package for buyers that want it all: spacious interior, excellent ride, and exceptional fuel economy, all in one stylish package.”
