Vauxhall Announces Ampera Earth at £29,995

Yesterday Vauxhall announced a cost-leader version from among the three Amperas being offered in the UK.



The Earth will share the same powertrain as the Opel Ampera and Chevy and Holden Volt, and costs £29,995 ($46,285) after deducting a £5,000 ($7,716) Plug in Car Grant. It will join the £32,250 ($49.765) Positiv and £33,995 ($52,458) Electron trim levels.



Standard features for the Earth include DAB radio, 7-inch touch screen display and Bluetooth. It is available in four exterior colors and is offered with a black cloth trim.



Compared to the mid and top-level models, the the Earth forfeits parking sensors, leather seats and the 30GB HDD system.



Vauxhall has 24 dealers offering the Ampera range plus personalized customer care is offered via four specialists staffed at each dealership.



The company is also partnering with British Gas enabling customers to get a free home assessment to ensure that their charging capability is fully up to spec.



Claims for urban mileage is over 300mpg for the Vauxhall Ampera and emissions are a claimed 27g/km of CO2.
