This week from Monday through today, an estimated 3,000 stakeholders in Washington, D.C. attended what is being called the “Largest North American Alternative Fuel Vehicles Showcase.”
The 2013 Alternative Clean Transportation Expo converged at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy as a means to put key players together in the alternative energy transportation markets.
Included in the gathering are vehicles on display by UPS, Proctor & Gamble, Frito-Lay, GE, and FedEx. These along with others have showcased their clean vehicles powered by electric, hybrid, hydrogen, natural gas, propane and renewable fuel technologies.
Yesterday a roundtable discussion was held by leaders including those representing the White House, the EPA, and other top-level policymakers on how federal policies can help advance the market for alternative fuel vehicle technologies.
Companies that participated include America’s Natural Gas Alliance, Propane Education and Research Council, Ryder System, Inc., Shell Oil Company, Volvo, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Freightliner, and others representing all fuel types and vehicle classes.
ACT 2013 highlights also included:
– Keynote Addresses: the ACT Expo conference sessions will commence on
June 25 with a keynote address from Tom O’Brien, president and CEO of
TravelCenters of America on Tuesday June 25 followed by a keynote
address from David Abney, COO of UPS, on Wednesday, June 26, 2013.
— Expo Hall: A sold-out expo hall with 100,000 sq. ft. of space dedicated
to providing attendees with tangible access to more than 70 advanced,
