Ford Motor Company issued a recall of C-Max Hybrids equipped with the panoramic glass roof due to insufficient safety protection in the roof.
The recall extends to 33,012 cars built between January 190June 26, 2013.
To remedy the issue, Ford dealers will install plastic energy absorbing material on both sides of the vehicle under the roof. This is expected to make it safer against potential head injuries.
The issue was discovered when the C-Max was being tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Ford, and no injuries have been reported involving the insufficiently protecting roof.
