Sun Country Highway (SCH), aiming to green Canada’s Highways, is officially launching 12 EV chargers this week.
SCH, in collaboration with 11 organizations and local governments, is launching Sun Country Highway EV charging infrastructure throughout the western side of Ontario, from London to Owen Sound.
SCH said this will make Ontario’s West Coast one of the most EV-friendly regions in Ontario, helping to boost local eco-tourism and promote emission-free travel across the Province.
All Sun Country Highway charging stations offer free charging; the electricity is provided by the host of the location.
“The addition of these EV Chargers to the region showcases a commitment to environmental, social and economic sustainability for these regions,” said Christopher Misch, Vice President Sun Country Highway. “This is a huge step forward to promote electric vehicles and to drive eco-tourism – these businesses and municipal governments are leading by example and will go far to prove the adage If you build it, they will come.”
Sun Country Highway is a wholly Canadian owned company and describes itself as being focused on creating Canada’s electric vehicle infrastructure. Its aim is to promote the adoption of clean energy transportation by Greening Canada’s Highways.
The following is an itinerary of the various launch events. The public is welcome to attend.
