Primed and ready to launch this year, Danish ECOmove’s QBEAK EV, just got an additional shot in the arm by being named the best EV early-stage investment opportunity.
This distinction for the Danish company came via Frost & Sullivan's annual Best Practice Award which recognizes companies in regional and global markets for outstanding achievement in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service and strategic product development.
ECOmove will officially accept the award at the 2012 Excellence in Best Practices Awards Banquet in the beginning of May in London.
As for its city car, ECOmove is going to launch the QBEAK-EV in 2012 with the goal of it being one of the most affordable, individual, flexible, sustainable and easy to drive and park EV without compromising safety or reliability.
According to ECOmove, the QBEAK will have a length of 9.85 feet (3 meters), with up to six removable seats or a large trunk. It is made from non-corrosive materials resulting in what is described as a robust runabout with a weight of around 882 pounds (400 kilograms), including batteries, for a nominal range of 125 miles (200 km) – with capacity for more.
As alluded to, the flexible-spec vehicle can be configured in terms of interior and exterior design and finish not to mention battery capacity. The batteries are set in as many as six removable modules allowing a potential driving range of up to 187 miles (300 km).
