Held on Wednesday and Thursday of this week in Barcelona, Spain, one of the EV Forum’s goal was to highlight many EV-related initiatives.

One of the initiative highlighted was LIVE Barcelona. Within the framework of this project, Barcelona is implementing a set of actions to promote electric vehicles, including free on-street parking for EVs; equipping 2 percent of parking places with plug-in stations; implementing a 75 percent reduction in vehicle registration tax; and funding a subvention of 15 percent of EVs’ acquisition cost.

Another initiative is motitbcn, a sharing system where users may pick up and drop off the vehicle anywhere they want. Located in Catalonia, the system’s users have to book their trip by telling where they want to go and where their trip starts from. Current vehicles used for the project phase are e-scooters, similar to the Peugeot e scooter pictured, but other green vehicles will be considered after the pilot phase.

More information can be found in this recap of the first day. More information on the event itself can be found here.
